A patient named Ruma Akhter (28) died after tonsil operation in Joypurhat. The housewife's death happened on Friday night at the East Bazar Bandhan Clinic and Diagnostic Centre. The relatives of the deceased's family claimed that the housewife named Ruma Akhtar died due to wrong treatment by the doctor. The deceased housewife is the wife of Shamim Hossain of Nurpur Mridhapara village of Joypurhat Sadar Upazila.
After the death of Ruma Akhter, all the doctors and nurses fled the hospital leaving her body. Ruma Akhter's husband Shamim Hossain said that my wife died due to the negligence of the doctor. I demand fair investigation and trial of the incident. Joypurhat Sadar police station officer in charge investigation Mizanur Rahman said that a housewife named Ruma Akhtar died after tonsil operation. After receiving the information, the police went to the spot. The body has been sent to Joypurhat 250-bed General Hospital morgue for post-mortem. The actual cause of death will be known only after the investigation.
