People from different professions of Bayarchar and Ramgati areas formed a human chain on the part of Boyarchar road in Subarnachar upazila of Noakhali and the connection between Ramgati upazila of Laxmipur to protect the bridge ghat and embankment. The anti-discrimination student society and local residents organized this human chain in Boyarchar junction Bridgeghat area yesterday afternoon.
At this time, the speakers said, near the connection bridge that is in our Boyarchar, the flow of the river has changed and the banks have started breaking in different places. A lot of houses have sunk in it. At the moment, the bridge is in a dangerous condition due to landslides. If it is not reformed quickly, more than 50 thousand people of this region will be disconnected from Ramgati Upazila and severe public suffering may be caused.
Locals from the human chain said that along with Bridgeghat, the embankment needs to be preserved very quickly. Due to dam failure, agricultural land is being flooded with salt water and crop land is being destroyed. At the same time, the houses have started to be demolished. People from various professions including local public representatives, workers of anti-discrimination student movement were present in the human chain.
