Special child Zubair wants govt job

Indomitable will can overcome everything. People with disabilities don't want to be a burden on society. They want to stand on their feet. Zubair Ahmed walked on both knees and hands since birth. Neither hand works properly. His speech is slurred but he has an insatiable interest in studies since childhood. There was no end to parents' worries about education. His mother passed away 2 years ago (in 2020) before his SSC exam. In 2021, father got married again. Zubair Ahmed became unusual after the death of his mother. The father and brothers and sisters were worried about the disabled son's participation in the SSC examination.

Zubair Ahmed got GPA-4.54 from Bandhan Technical High School and BM College established in Uchmanpur Union of Kuliarchar Upazila of Kishoreganj under Bangladesh Technical Education Board Dhaka in the year 2022. His father, new mother and school teachers were proud of him for this success. Zubair Ahmed, who came to the college sitting in a wheel chair, successfully participated in the HSC examination in the year 2024 from the same educational institution. Got GPA- 3.63. School teachers, classmates and parents are happy with the success of Zubair Ahmed, a motherless disabled person. But his victory was not as easy as usual.

Yesterday, when he came to get treatment at Popular Medical Center in Kuliachar Bazar, we spoke to Zubair Ahmed. He said, I cannot walk normally with two legs. Both my legs are completely immobile. I have to move around in a wheel chair. I can't speak properly, can't work. I have passed SSC and HSC after studying hard. I feel very happy now. My sir, classmates and family members have all been very kind and supportive to me. Especially after my father, my new mother, uncle, elder sister, brother-in-law and assistant professor of surgery department of Sir Salimullah Medical College Dr. Md Niamul Islam have given me a lot of support and encouragement in reading. At present I am a little sick. A few days ago, a tumor in one of my knees was removed completely free of charge by Dr Md Niamul Islam. Then he also helped me by giving free medicine. So I still came here for treatment. He does not want be a burden, he demands a job in a government institution with the help of current government and want everyone's prayers and cooperation.

Zubair Ahmed is the son of Hafez Md Shahidullah and late Zakia Sultana of Purva Bhagalpur village of Kuliarchar upazila of Kishoreganj district. He is the second among three brothers and one sister. His father is the imam of Pirpur Chairman Bari Jame Masjid. His father said, since childhood, my son's two legs are immobile; his speech is unclear and unusual. He is a government registered disabled person. He is continuing his studies with great difficulty. The teachers also took special care of him. We are happy and proud that the motherless boy has passed the HSC exam in a family of poverty. He sought everyone's prayers and support for his son.

Bandhan Technical High School and BM College principal Md Shaheen Alam said that obstacles are overcome by the strong will and strong will of disabled students. Zubair Ahmed is a brilliant boy. He has great interest in studies. But his family is very poor. We have given him full support from this educational institution. Zubair Ahmed passing HSC exam is really commendable and a matter of pride. Hope he can reach his goal.

Kuliarchar Upazila Administrator and Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Sabiha Fatematuz-Johra is happy with the success of Zubair Ahmed who overcame his physical handicap. She said, the disabled are not a burden to the society. We all have to move forward with encouragement from their side. They should be made to participate with the mainstream of society. Only then the welfare of the country and the nation will prosper.
