20 absent on first day

HSC and equivalent examinations were held in 4 centers of Sandwip upazila in Chattogram like all over the country.

A total of 1531 students from Sandwip Upazila participated in the HSC and equivalent examinations in 2024. However, 1531 candidates were present in the first day of the examination, but 30 candidates were absent.

HSC candidates and parents suffered due to rain in Sandwip from 8 am yesterday. Many students went to the center drenched in rain as they were instructed to enter the center by 9:30 am. Many of the orphans outside were seen getting drenched in the rain.

Belayet Hossain, Principal of Govt Haji Abdul Baten College, said that there were 615 candidates in my college centre, 5 of them were absent, 4 of them were male students and one female student.

Jamil Farhad, principal of Mustafizur Degree College, said that there were 415 candidates in my college center and 5 were absent.

Acting Principal of South Sandwip College Feroze Khan said that the total number of examinees in our college is 388. Eight are absent. This exam started from 10 am yesterday and ended at 1 pm.

After visiting Sandwip Govt and Haji Abdul Baten College Center yesterday at around 11 o'clock in, it was seen that the examination is being held in a peaceful atmosphere by maintaining good order.

Meanwhile, Sandwip upazila executive officer Regan Chakma visited four centers of Sandwip for the HSC and equivalent examination which started at 10 am. Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Tasfiq Sifat Ullah, and Upazila Secondary Education Officer Shafiul Azam were present at that time.

UNO Regan Chakma said despite the rain, the examinees arrived on time for the examination and the examination went on smoothly.
