26 people were arrested in Brahmanbaria in a separate operation from Monday night to yesterday afternoon. The joint forces and the police conducted this operation in various upazilas including the district headquarters and arrested them. During this time drugs and domestic weapons were recovered. According to the information received from various sources, the joint forces arrested a person named Sajeeb Mia from Chandura of Bijaynagar upazila along with 13 domestic weapons, various drugs. Palash Bhai and Shimul Bhai of Maldarpara area in Akhaura were arrested by the police on the charge of trying to occupy the house. Besides, the police arrested five more people under the arrest warrant.
Meanwhile, six persons named Arman, Kazi Tarek, Amjad Hossain, Sajjad Mana, Ashraful Islam Himel and Abu Saeed were arrested from Dharabhanga village of Barikandi Union of Nabinagar Upazila during the preparation of the robbery. At that time, two country-made single-barreled guns, seven cartridges and two cartridges were recovered from them. Police raided a car in Ashuganj toll plaza area and arrested two persons named Khairul Islam and Ripon along with 14 kg of ganja. Four people named Jasim Uddin, Emran, Hanufa, Khodeja were arrested in Kasba along with 11 kg of ganja. In the operation of Akhaura police station, two persons named Maya Prakash Rashida and Asma Begum were arrested from Azampur area of upazila along with 400 pieces of yaba.
Naeem was arrested with 118 bottles of Iskoff Syrup by the District Intelligence Police in Bishnupur of Bijayanagar Upazila. Detective Police arrested two persons named Harun Mallik and Jahangir along with four kg of ganja from Khantihata of Sadar Upazila in a separate operation. Besides, a person named Sohag Mia was arrested by Sarail Thana Police along with 103 pieces of yabas.
