Abraham Lincoln gets the Swadhinata Padak

The government decided to give the Swadhinata Padak to 10 eminent personalities for their glorious contributions at the national level. Advocate SM Abraham Lincoln, founder principal of Kurigram's Kriti Sonta Law College and founder chairman of North Bengal Museum, will receive the Swadhinata Padak 2024 in the field of social service/public service.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will hand over the award to him on March 25. This was confirmed in a letter signed by Zaheda Parveen, Additional Secretary (Committee and Economic) of the Cabinet Division.

SM Abraham Lincoln was born on November 14, 1966 in Krishnapur Bakshipara village of Kurigram. He is a lawyer and social worker by profession. The Government of Bangladesh awarded him the Ekushey Padak in 2022 for his significant contribution to social service. This time he has been nominated as the final nominee in the Social Service / Public Service category of the Swadhinata Padak. He is a researcher and multidimensional writer of the Liberation War.

The Swadhinata Padak is the highest state award in the country. The government of Bangladesh has been giving this award every year since 1977 on the occasion of Independence Day on March 26.
