Sadar Upazila BRDB Chairman Nurul Islam Sikder (50) was killed in a truck accident in Gopalganj. Meanwhile, a motorcyclist was injured. The deceased's home is in the Sonakur area of the city. His father's name is Rezaul Haque Sikder Riju.
Citing eyewitnesses, SI Md Roman Molla of Kashiani Highway Police said that he was on his way home from Kathi in Sadar Upazila to his contractor job on a motorcycle when a truck going from Khulna to Dhaka ran over their motorcycle. Nurul Islam Sikder, who was sitting on the back seat of the motorcycle, was killed on the spot. Meanwhile, the motorcycle driver Lavlu Mia (50) was seriously injured. He has been sent to Dhaka for advanced treatment.
