For the first time, passenger train services on Dhaka-Cox's Bazar route will start from today. All preparations have been completed. Meanwhile, the railway authorities said that the sale of tickets completed till December 10. Railway officials, including the station master, have joined the work.
The speed limit of passenger trains on Dhaka-Cox's Bazar route has been fixed at a maximum of 120 kilometers per hour. On November 11, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina ordered the introduction of two trains from December while inaugurating the Cox's Bazar rail link.
On the first day of its journey, the train will leave Cox's Bazar iconic station for Dhaka at 12:40 pm. The train is scheduled to reach Dhaka at 9:10 pm. The return train will leave Dhaka's Kamalapur station for Cox's Bazar at 10:30 pm.
Ratan Kumar Chowdhury, manager of Chattogram station of the railway, said that commercial train services will start from Friday. People have a lot of interest in trains. Tickets go on sale until December 10. We have completed all preparations.
According to railway sources, the new train has a total of 16 coaches and 780 seats. The fare of Shovon chair from Dhaka to Cox's Bazar has been fixed at Tk 695. AC chair fare is Tk 1,325, AC seat fare Tk 1,590 and AC berth fare (sleeping seat) Tk 2,380. On the other hand, the fare of Shovon chair from Chattogram to Cox's Bazar is Tk 205, Snigdha class Tk 386, AC seat 466 and AC berth Tk 696.
