Extreme Sufferings of Residents

-Dirty garbage everywhere on the road

-Unplanned drainage system

-Occupying the sidewalk

-Parking everywhere

-Temporary shops

Alamdanga city has now turned into a city of misery. Garbage is everywhere on the main road of the city, unplanned drainage system, encroachment of footpaths, parking all over the intersection, temporary shops, all the city dwellers are suffering.

Drains were constructed on both sides of the main road and on one side of some other roads to remove waterlogging in the city, which are located at the level of the road somewhere quite high from the main road, due to which the volume of the main road is decreasing. Municipalities are not getting full benefits due to weak regular maintenance and water drainage system.

It can be seen on the ground, the sidewalks on both sides of the road from Shadhinota Mor to Chartola are completely occupied by the goods of the neighboring shops. On the footpath, the activities of restaurants, motor workshops are going on. Along with that, there are mobile food stalls everywhere. It is difficult to find the existence of footpaths in furniture shops adjacent to the main road.

Due to the fact that the footpath is slightly higher than the road, motorcycles, pakhivans, delivery vans of various shops are parked everywhere on the main road after the footpath. The narrow roads left after the occupied sidewalks, illegal parking and makeshift shops on both sides are congested throughout the day. From in front of the post office on the main road to Hafizmor via Chartolamor and on the other side via Alifuddin Road, Kaporpatti, Tahbazar, fish and meat market are jammed all day long and traffic is very difficult as there is no place to walk.

Most of the pedestrians of the day have to wait for a long time to cross the front of the big mosque on the main road.

The worst sufferers are school children, students and their parents. A parent was taking his child to school at Altayiba intersection. When talking to the reporter, he said that he has to go in front of the restaurant with a small child in great fear every day. At the same time, girls in schools and colleges cross the narrow footpaths with extreme discomfort.

There are battery operated pakhivans across the city most of which come from different unions. Due to lack of municipal registration, specific sands, traffic jams are created due to standing all over the city. Also, during the day, the entire road was closed due to the entry of large trucks / railways on the Anandham road from Hafiz Mor. Pedestrians are forced to use alternative roads.

Even though common people and good people talk about these public grievances, even though they are discussed on social media, no action of any responsible party can be observed. So far the municipality, administration, business associations have not taken any effective steps to reduce the suffering of the people.

Locals say that even if there is no budget, even if there is a little sincerity, the city dwellers can be freed from this environment. Free of illegal occupation of footpaths, removal of illegal parking, ban on entry of large transport into the city during day time and arrangement of stands to control the movement of engine driven pakhi vans will be released to a large extent only the expectation of common people. But who will tie the bell around the cat's neck? They expressed disappointment.
