The High Voltage National Grid Tower collapsed at Sahebnagar Padma in Bahalbaria Union of Mirpur Upazila in Kushtia due to the continuous erosion of Padma River.
At yesterday around 11:30 pm, the tower disappeared into the Padma. 4 more towers are at risk. In this regard, the general manager of Kushtia Barkhada Palli Vidyut Samiti said that even if the high voltage tower is submerged in the river, there will be no problem with Kushtia Palli electricity because alternative lines are there.

Kushtia-2 (Mirpur Bheramara) Former Member of Parliament BNP National Executive Committee Member Valiant freedom fighter Professor Shahidul Islam Chief Engineer in Water Development Board took steps to prevent the breach of Padma and informed about the matter, to the DG.
