HSC results published pass rate 77.78%

The results of the 2024 Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations have been published, with a total pass rate of 77.78%. The general education boards recorded a 75.56% pass rate, while the madrasah and technical boards saw significantly higher success rates of 93.40% and 88.09%, respectively. The results were officially announced at 11am yesterday and were made available on the respective boards' websites and at educational institutions simultaneously. This year, a total of 1,331,058 students participated in the HSC and equivalent exams. Among them, 666,013 were boys and 531,714 girls. The pass rate for boys was 75.61% and for girls it was 79.95%. This year, 145,911 students achieved GPA-5 — of them, 64,978 were boys and 80,933 girls. In 2023, the average pass rate across 11 boards was 78.64%, with 92,365 students achieving GPA-5.

 

Among the nine general boards, this year Rajshahi recorded a pass rate of 81.24%, Barishal 81.85%, Sylhet 85.39%, Dhaka 79.21%, Dinajpur 77.56%, Cumilla 71.15%, Chattogram 70.32%, Jashore 64.29%, and Mymensingh recorded the lowest 63.22%. News from our correspondent

 

Cumilla

In the result of HSC examination this year the pass rate of Cumilla board is 71.15 percent. Which is lowest in last 4 years. Last year the pass rate was 75.39. Before that it was 100% in 2020, 97.49% in 2021, 90.72% in 2022, 75.39% in 2023 and 71.15% in 2024. But GPA-5 has increased. 7 thousand 922 people got GPA-5 this year. Last year GPA-5 was 5 thousand 655 people.This year 79 thousand 905 out of 1 lakh 12 thousand 312 candidates has passed. Cumilla Education Board Chairman Professor Dr. Nizamul Karim announced the result in the board auditorium yesterday. Four educational institutions with zero pass. Girls are ahead of boys in terms of grades and GPA-5. Regarding the low pass rate in the results, the board chairman said that this year, exams were held in various subjects including English and ICT. Among them, 21 thousand 538 failed in English and 12 thousand 810 failed in ICT.

 

Chattogram

Students of 282 educational institutions under Chattogram Education Board participated in this year's Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSC) examination. Out of this 13 colleges have passed 100%. The number of educational institutes with 100% pass has increased by only one compared to last year. And no one who appeared for the examination from five colleges could pass. Last year the number of colleges that passed the exam was three. Accordingly, this time the number of zero pass colleges has increased by two more. There is no prestigious college in the city in the percentage pass list. Even no government college has been placed. This information is known from the results published yesterday. On the other hand, the pass rate is less this time than last time. But this time GPA has increased by 5 compared to that. This year the pass rate is 70.32 percent and 10 thousand 269 people got GPA-5. Last year the number of students who got GPA-5 was 6 thousand 339. Chattogram Bandar Mahila College is at the first position among 13 colleges with 100% pass. 387 people participated in the exam from this college. Chattogram Port College is in the second position. Their 371 students participated in the exam. Cantonment English School and College is in the third position. 346 students participated in the HSC examination from this college. Halishahar Cantonment Public School and College is at the fourth position. 259 of their students participated in the exam and passed with 100%. Bangladesh Navy School and College in Kaptai is at the fifth position in the list.

 

Kendua

The results of Alim exam across the country were released yesterday. The result shows that from Kendua Upazila of Netrokona district this year Alim passed the exam from 4 out of 5 madrasah. Among them 100% passed from Bharapara Kamil Madrasah, 100% from Royailbari Fazil Madrasah, 100% from Gonda Islamia Fazil Madrasah and 100% from Monkanda MU Alim Madrasah. The overall result of this year's Alim exam shows that 174 out of 178 candidates from 5 madrasas of the upazila have passed. The pass rate is 97.75%. Madrasah wise results show that 55 people participated in the examination from Bharapara Kamil Madrasah and 55 passed. Pass rate is 100%. ,Roailbari Fazil Madrasah 34 people participated in the exam, 34 passed, the pass rate was 100%, from Ganda Islamia Fazil Madrasah, 18 people participated in the exam and 18 passed and the pass rate was 100%. From Mankanda MU Alim Madrasah out of 34 candidates appeared and 34 passed and the pass rate was 100% and from Rajghat DU Alim Madrasah out of 37 out of 33 passed. The pass rate is 97.06 %.

 

Feni

699 students got GPA 5 in Feni in this year's HSC and Alim examination. Feni Girls Cadet College and Feni Govt College of the district are at the top position. According to the results announced yesterday, 6 thousand 741 have passed the HSC out of 10 thousand 935 students who participated in 13 centers of the district. 4 thousand 194 people failed. The pass rate is 61.65. 5039 people got GPA-5. There is only 01 college in the percentage pass list. Among the total 1 thousand 869 students who participated in 07 centers in Alim, 1 thousand 668 have passed. 201 have failed. The pass rate is 89.25. 160 people got GP-5. There are 08 institutions in the percentage pass list. Among them, all the candidates of Feni Government Girls Cadet College have passed with GPA-5. 55 candidates from this college participated in the HSC examination and all got GPA-5.

The principal of the college, Group Captain Mohammad Nazmul Haque confirmed this information and said that the college has continued its success this year like other years. The guidance of army personnel, sincere teaching by trained teachers, examination as per calendar, distribution of results and orderly environment have played a role in achieving these results. For this he greeted the students, teachers, parents and every member of the college. Meanwhile, 1 thousand 402 students participated and 1 thousand 237 students passed from Feni Government College. General Secretary of College Teachers Association Farid Alam Bhuiyan confirmed this information and said that 319 students have achieved GPA-5. The pass rate is 89.57. Among those who got GPA-5 are 48 students of business education department, 43 students of humanities department and 228 students of science department.

 

Mirzapur

 

Mirzapur Cadet College, Tangail continued its success and secured 5 percent GPA in this year's HSC examination. This year 48 candidates participated from this cadet college. All of them are from science department. In this regard, Colonel Riaz Ahmed Chowdhury, principal of Mirzapur Cadet College, said that this unique success is the result of the direction of the army headquarters, the sincere efforts of the learned teachers, the orderly environment, the regular encouragement of the parents and the rigorous practice of the cadets. Sincere efforts will be continued in the future to maintain this trend.

 

Pabna

2 thousand 692 people got GPA-5 in Pabna district in this year's ASC examination. The pass rate is 81.47%. This year 18 thousand 653 candidates participated in the SSC exam from Pabna. Among them 15 thousand 196 passed. 2 thousand 692 got GPA-5. The pass rate is 81.47%. Pabna Cadet College has performed well among notable educational institutions in the district. All 55 candidates from here got GPA-5.

Barishal

The pass rate of Barishal Board in Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examination is 81.85 percent. Among them 4 thousand 167 students got GPA-5. 66 thousand 87 students participated in the examination this year. Among them, 31 thousand 993 students and 34 thousand 94 female students. 54 thousand 89 people have passed. Among them, 24 thousand 367 students and 29 thousand 722 female students. Jhalkathi district is ahead in pass rate in the department. Like every other time, girls are ahead in terms of pass and GPA in this education board. Last year the pass rate in the board was 80.65. And this time GPA-5 has increased to 174.
