Hundreds of traders of Vararia market of Manikganj Sadar Upazila have protested and human chained to save themselves from terrorism and extortionists.
This human chain was held in front of Manikganj Press Club yesterday morning. In this human chain which was held for hours, all the traders of Khanaria Bazaar demanded exemplary punishment of terrorist extortionist Roni, Anwar and Suman.
They said that on the 16th of this month, the terrorists ambushed the traders on the basis of extortion. At that time, the terrorists attacked Zainal, Ibrahim, Salman with sharp chopsticks and seriously injured them. All the affected businessmen demanded remedy and security from the administration.
In this regard, the traders of Vararia market have submitted an application to the District Commissioner seeking safety from the violence and torture of the terrorists. On the 16th of this month, clashes took place in Khanaria Union of Manikganj Sadar Upazila in Khanaria Bazar and Bala Bazar in Harirampur Upazila. According to local residents, this incident happened mainly around the sand business.
After this incident, joint forces arrested Chhatra Dal's Nazrul Islam, Anwar Hossain, Roni Mia, Tuhin Mia, and Sumon Mia. The injured are Ibrahim Ahmed, Joynal Abedin, Salman Hossain, Yusuf Ali and Simon Hossain. Among them Zainal Abedin and Ibrahim Ahmed are reported to have been seriously injured.
