BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman and former five-time MP from Comilla-3 (Muradnagar) constituency, former State Minister for Religion and BNP Vice Chairman Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain Kaikobad have formed a human chain demanding the cancellation of the false case filed against them and the farce verdict of the autocratic government and creating an environment for them to return to the country.
The human chain was formed from Allahu Chattar in the upazila headquarters yesterday morning, covering a one-kilometer area including Companiganj Road, Thana Road, Ramchandrapur Road and Homna Road.
Calling on the interim government to withdraw the false case of Tarique Rahman and Kaikobad and arrange for their immediate return to the country, they said that for the second time during the Awami League government's tenure in the August 21, 2004 grenade attack case, Tarique Rahman and Kaikobad Dada were accused in the name of further investigation and a supplementary charge sheet was issued under the pretext of political vendetta. No evidence or witnesses were found against Kaikobad Dada in the case! After that, the Awami League fascist government sentenced Kaikobad Dada in a farce verdict through party influence in the judiciary.
At this time, the speakers also said, 'Muradnagar Upazila BNP-organizations and students-people have been struggling against the fascist government for 17 years for democracy. BNP Vice Chairman Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain Kaikobad has led this struggle without interruption. He has led Muradnagar in the movement against the fascist government even from a thousand miles away.
