Upazila Administration and Upazila Disaster Management Department observed the International Day for Disaster Reduction through various programs in Tala of Satkhira. The program included rally, drill on earthquake, flood, lightning and fire, painting competition and discussion meeting. In presence of Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Sheikh Md Rasel and Upazila Project Implementation Officer Obaidul Haque, the rally started from the Upazila Parishad premises and ended at the same place after circumambulating the main roads of Tala Sadar.
Later, Upazila Fire Service Station Officer Abdul Hannan conducted a drill on earthquake, flood, lightning and fire. Officials and members of the project office, Mukti Parishad participated in it. On the occasion, students of Upazila Government Primary School and Secondary School participated in the painting competition. The UNO distributed prizes among the winners.
