Anwar Hossain Manju and Sheikh Shahidul Islam have been unanimously chosen to serve as the Jatiya Party`s (JP) chairman and secretary general, respectively, for the ensuing three years.
According to a press release, they were chosen during the JP`s triennial council election session today at the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) in the city. Chief Election Commissioner Abdur Rahim presided over the election session while two other election commissioners AH Salah Uddin Mahmud and Mafizul Haque Bebu were present. According to the release, names of 44 office bearers of the new committee were announced while JP chairman and secretary general will declare remaining names of the committee later.
Office bearers of the committee included presidium members Abdur Rahim, Begum Tasmima Hossain, Sadek Siddiqui, Shah Md Rafiqul Bari Chowdhury, AH Salah Uddin Mahmud, Mafizul Haque Bebu, Ejaz Ahmed Mukta, Ruhul Amin, Nazmunnahar Bebi, Kazi Jahangir Amir, Monirul Islam Jamaddar, Aziz Bangal, Abu Sayed Khan, Syed Salah Uddin, Osman Gani, Haji Abdul Ali, Mahim Hossain and Advocate Mir Mosharraf Hossain Miron.
Vice chairpersons are Alhaj Md Abdullah, Ashraful Islam, Golam Sarwar Jamaddar, Mohammad Hossain Renu, Jahanara Arju, Fateh Ali Tipu, Iftekhar Ahmed Limon, and Mir Harunur Rashid. Joint-general secretaries include KM Mojibur Rahman Majnu, Jahangir Alam Pradhan, Aminul Islam Tapan, and Advocate Enamul Islam Rubel.
