Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST) Genome Center is capable of detecting monkeypox virus spread around the world. The Genome Center also has three sets of primers provided by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to detect the virus.
The Genome Center is further informed that, past experience, the Genome Center also has the capacity to identify monkeypox virus in Bangladesh in the future and to identify the type of virus by sequencing from positive samples of monkeypox virus. At the same time, the lab will be able to play an effective role in the detection and research of monkeypox virus if the appropriate authorities of Bangladesh government approve it.
