Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today inaugurated a model mosque and Islamic cultural centre at Hossainpur in Kishoreganj. The prime minister inaugurated 50 model mosques and Islamic cultural centres across the country, including Hossainpur, in the fifth phase from her official residence Ganobhaban at 11am on Sunday.
There are separate places for prayers and prayers in the model mosque and Islamic cultural center with air conditioning system. Apart from this, there will be islamic conference room with arrangements for registration and training of pilgrims, imam training center, research center, Islamic library, autism corner, hifzkhana, pre-primary education and Quran education.
Hossainpur Upazila Parishad Chairman Mohammad Sohel, Hossainpur Upazila Nirbahi Officer Anindya Mondal, Hossainpur Police Station OC Asaduzzaman Titu, Hossainpur Upazila AL President Zahirul Islam Nuru Mia, General Secretary MA Halim, former General Secretary Shah Mahbubul, among others, were present during the inauguration.
In order to implement the promises of the 2014 election manifesto, instructions were given to set up a total of 564 model mosques and Islamic cultural centers in every district and upazila of Bangladesh. Later, with the addition of four new upazilas, it was decided to build a total of 564 model mosques. Kishoreganj Public Works Department is constructing the model mosque in Hossainpur Upazila. The Islamic Foundation is in charge of the overall implementation.
The three-storey model mosque and Islamic cultural centre in Hossainpur upazila have arrangements for 900 worshippers to offer prayers together. There are separate aju and prayer rooms for men and women, imam training center, hefzkhana, mass education center, research center, library, body bathing system, funeral arrangement, registration of hajj pilgrims, library, autism corner, e-corner, accommodation for foreign tourists. Besides, arrangements have been made for the accommodation of imams and muezzins and offices for officials and employees in the cultural center.
