Sirajganj's Nalka bridge has been opened to ease traffic congestion ahead of Eid. Bangladesh Bridge Division Secretary and Executive Director of Bangladesh Bridge Authority Manjur Hossain inaugurated the bridge yesterday. Later, traffic started on this bridge. Deputy Secretary of Local Government Tofazzal Hossain, Sirajganj Assistant Superintendent of Police Adnan Hossain, Deputy Project Manager of contractor Mir Akhter Hossain Limited Sher Shah Farid, among others, were present on the occasion.
Eid-ul-Adha will be held on June 29. The Nalka Bridge has been opened in Sirajganj on Eid-ul-Fitr fearing that the Bangabandhu Bridge West Link Highway could cause suffering. So that people in the north and south of the country can return home with relief. People of 22 districts of the north and south of the country pass through Hatikumrul roundabout via Bangabandhu Bridge West Roundabout. Around 17,000-18,000 vehicles pass through the highway every day. However, before Eid, the number stood at 30,000-40,000. Traffic congestion occurs every year due to excessive traffic movement before Eid. Passengers suffered. The Nalka Bridge has been opened to avoid this inconvenience.
