Over a Thousand Patients Receive Free Medical Services in Faridganj

The volunteer organization The OneLight Foundation has provided free medical services and medicine to over a thousand men, women, and children in the remote areas of Faridganj Upazila, Chandpur. The medical camp was organized on Friday (February 28) from 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM at the premises of Maulvi Bari in Dhanua Bazar.

A total of ten specialist doctors from Dhaka and Chandpur provided medical consultations in various fields, including medicine, diabetes, cardiology, dermatology, gynecology, pediatrics, orthopedics, and ophthalmology.

On behalf of the organizers, the foundation’s coordinator, Ashrafur Rahman Shawon, stated that the medical camp was arranged to provide free advanced medical consultations and healthcare services to rural underprivileged and destitute people. He further mentioned that a total of 1,000 patients received treatment throughout the day-long camp.

HOV AUST Chapter served as a voluntary partner for the event, led by Shah Mortuza Morshed and Afia Ahsan, lecturers at Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology.

The camp also provided free diabetes, ECG, and EEG tests. The Occupational Safety and Human Factors Engineering Society (OSHEFES) contributed as a laboratory support partner, while Bangladesh Khobor was the media partner.

The founder of the organization, Noor Sara Qader, stated, `Our goal is not only to provide medical services but also to raise health awareness and encourage people to adopt a healthier lifestyle.‍‍`
