State Minister for Cultural Affairs KM Khalid today said there is no alternative to Awami League (AL) government to take country forward.
"We have to maintain the continuation of the present government to build a beautiful, safe, happy and prosperous Bangladesh for the next generation. We have to reelect the present government for the sake of the country and the nation," he said.
The state minister said this while addressing as chief guest the inaugural function of an exhibition of books on Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) Auditorium here this morning.
Department of Public Libraries is organizing the three-day exhibition marking the 48th Martyrdom Anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
"Bangabandhu was killed along with most of his family members on August 15, 1975, under the leadership of Ziaur Rahman, but now we are hearing slogans for that killer Zia on our streets, that is pathetic. When I heard the news of Bangabandhu killing, on radio, I couldn't believe. I was hoping that the news would be false," the state minister added.
Presided over by Department of Public Libraries Director General Md Abubakar Siddique, the function was also addressed by Cultural Affairs Secretary Khalil Ahmed, among others.
