District Detective Branch,(DB) Police arrested one person with 2 kg 400 grams of heroin in Rajshahi Godagari during a raid in upazila Chikhaghati area around yesterday. The arrested Sirajul Islam Anand (32) is the son of Md Sanwar Hossain of Sujanagar Pabapara of Shah-Makhdum Police Station of Rajshahi. According to police sources, Rajshahi District DB SI (Unarmed) Abdur Rahim along with officers and forces were engaged to recover drugs in Rajabari Hat Bazaar and nearby areas of the upazila.
On the basis of secret information, they came to know that two persons were staying for the purpose of selling illegal drug heroin. On the basis of such information, under the leadership of OC DB, Rajshahi Mr Muhammad Ruhul Amin along with SI Abdur Rahim and the force conducted the operation. The DB police arrested the accused Sirajul Islam Anand (32) with 05 packets of brown powder illegal drug, 02 kg 400 grams of heroin in the shopping bag in his right hand and another escaped. A case has been filed under the Narcotics Control Act, 2018 at Godagari Model Police Station in this regard.
