Madaripur district Liberal Democratic Party president holds a press conference demanding the arrest and trial of Shahin Mollah, former organising secretary of the banned student organization Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL).
The press conference was held at the office of Madaripur District Journalist Welfare Association yesterday morning.
At the press conference, President Mostafizur Rahman said that Shahin Mollah, a former leader of the banned BCL, has been involved in various illegal activities including drug business for a long time. Liberal Democratic Party member Md. Shahjalal Hossain obstructed all his misdeeds and wrote on Facebook criticizing them. On October 28, Shahjalal was attacked a tea shop in front of Shikdar's house in Charshamail village of Shibchar municipality by them. Later, he was rescued and admitted to Shibchar Upazila Health Complex. As his condition was critical, he was sent to Dhaka for better treatment. Later, on behalf of the Liberal Democratic Party, a case was filed with Shibchar Police Station mentioning the names of several people, including Shahin, Khokon, Saidur, Hamza, Rahim. However, no arrests have been made in the case. The leaders and activists demanded a fair trial of those involved in the attack under the law.
