Hefazat-e-Islam has held a protest march and rally in Brahmanbaria demanding the trial of those involved in the murder of lawyer Saiful Islam Alif in Chittagong and the banning of the religious organization ISKCON.
The leaders and activists of the organization took out a protest march from the National Hero Abdul Quddus Makhon Paurmukt Mancha Maidan in Bangabandhu Square in the city yesterday afternoon.
The protest march circled the main roads of the city and met at the Kautli bus stand.
Maulana Sajidur Rahman, Secretary General of Hefazat-e-Islam, addressed the rally as the chief guest. The rally, held under the chairmanship of Mufti Mubarakullah, President of Brahmanbaria District Hefazat-e-Islam, was addressed by the organization's Senior Vice President Borhan Uddin Qasemi and General Secretary Ali Azam Qasemi, among others.
The speakers at the rally said that lawyer Saiful Islam Alif was killed in broad daylight. Those from ISKCON who were involved in this murder should be given exemplary punishment. The speakers also called ISKCON a terrorist organization and demanded that it be banned.
