Rohingya girl fled with police

While undergoing treatment in Noakhali, the Rohingya girl and the policeman have been missing for 8 days while holding the hand of another policeman from the hospital while under treatment.

Until writing this report yesterday, the girl and the policeman were not found, before this incident took place in the Rohingya unit of the 250-bed Noakhali General Hospital around 3 pm last Thursday.

The name of the escaped girl is Khatija Munni (15). She is the daughter of Abul Kalam of cluster no 12 of Bhasan Char Rohingya camp.

According to multiple sources, police constable Riazur Rashid alias Nayan (27) was working at Bhasan Char police station near the Rohingya shelter camp. At that time, he developed a love relationship with Khatija, a girl from Bhasan Char Rohingya camp. Later, their love affair continued over the phone for many days. Allegedly, Constable Nayan while on duty in Bhasan Char indulged in illicit relations with women and was intoxicated by consuming liquor, ganja. A month ago, Nayan was closed from Bhasan Char police station and attached to Noakhali police line. Nayan has not been available on the Noakhali police line roll call since last Thursday.

Noakhali Superintendent of Police (SP) Mohammad Asaduzzaman said, I have heard the matter. However, no one complained about the missing Rohingya girl from her family. But it is true that the policemen are absent. Action will be taken against him for in-discipline and dereliction of duty.
