The by-election to Sajeda Chowdhury‍‍`s seat is on November 5

The by-election for Faridpur-2 seat, which fell vacant due to the death of Parliament Deputy Leader Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury, will be held on November 5.

On Monday (September 26), the Election Commission announced the election schedule.  EVM will be used in this election.  And the regional election officer of Khulna has been appointed as returning.

Before this, it was decided to announce this schedule in the commission meeting at the election building of Agargaon chaired by Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Habibul Awal.  After the eighth commission meeting, Election Commission (EC) secretary.  Humayun Kabir Khondkar announced this schedule.

He said that the deadline for submission of nomination papers is October 10, selection of nomination papers is on October 12, and the deadline for withdrawal of candidature is October 19.  And the polling will be held on November 5.

Parliament Deputy Leader Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury died on September 11.  Then the Parliament Secretariat declared the Faridpur-2 parliamentary seat vacant on September 13.  There is an obligation to hold elections in these constituencies within 90 days of the seat being declared vacant.
