A goat trader was tragically killed after being run over by a moving train in Kaunia, Rangpur. The accident occurred near the Takipol Bazar rail gate in the upazila yesterday afternoon. The deceased has been identified as Badsha Alam, son of the late Monai Mamud of Chhinai Chararahat area of Rajarhat upazila in Kurigram district.
Locals said that the deceased, Badsha Mia, was a goat trader and had poor hearing. Kaunia Station Master Mobarak Ali said that the person died on the spot after being hit by a train near the Takipol Bazar rail gate when the commuter train No. 62 from Biral to Lalmonirhat reached Kaunia station at 1.50 pm.
