Two villages’ ppl commute with risking their lives

There are connecting road between two villages. When monsoon comes, this link road gets submerged in water. Then the local people built a bamboo bridge. They have to cross the bamboo bridge without any other option. So the bamboo belt is the only hope of the two villagers.

Mozaffarpur and Nayapara are two villages of Ward No. 9 of Mozaffarpur Union of Netrakona's Kendua Upazila. There is only one connecting road for the movement of hundreds of people in these two villages. As this road is low, it gets under water during monsoon. Then the local people make bamboo forks. As a result, two villagers have to suffer a lot to cross this dangerous bamboo bridge during monsoon.

Although the appearance of various cities has changed over the years, no elevated roads have been built here in place of the bamboo corridor. The entire village-ganj communication system is bifurcated for this low link road. In this, the public including students of primary schools, secondary schools, colleges and madrasas have to bear extreme suffering during monsoon.

However, the local people including the students have to go to different places including Upazila Sadar Hospital, Tarail Bazar, Mozaffarpur Bazar, Government Primary School, Kendua Government College, Women's College, Mozaffarpur Secondary School.

Local residents Abdul Jabbar and Renu Mia said that the people of the village are facing various problems in the field of education, medicine and agriculture as the connecting road is not eligible to commute here. School-college students, farmers, traders, laborers, market people risk their lives to cross this shaky bridge during monsoon. However, if an elevated link road is constructed here, the suffering of the people of this area will be reduced.

Chairman of Mozaffarpur Union Parishad Zakir Alam Bhuiyan said that during the monsoon, the people of the village use this bridge at the risk of their lives. If an elevated link road is arranged here, the villagers’ sufferings will reduce for many years. I am drawing the attention of the concerned department for the construction of an elevated connecting road between these two villages.
