AL calls march, students denies

Bangladesh Awami League (AL) has called for a protest march today to commemorate the Shaheed Nur Hossain on November 10 and to demand the establishment of democratic rights.

This is the first public program in the capital city of Dhaka after the AL ousted the power. Already one person has been nabbed at the allegation of AL activist, two people fled from there.

Adviser to the interim government Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain on Saturday said the law enforcers would take stern action if any organization linked to mass-killing tries to hold any political program.

He gave this warning in a post from his verified Facebook account yesterday in the backdrop of calling first ever demonstration of AL in the city today after ouster of AL government on August 5 last following a massive mass upsurge.

Adviser Asif Mahmud wrote: "If anyone from a genocidal or banned organization tries to hold a program, law enforcement agencies will take strict action."

The AL has called the demonstration at Shaheed Nur Hossain Square in the capital’s Zero Point at 3pm today in memory of Shaheed Nur Hossain Day and demanding democratic rights.

Meanwhile, the interim government’s Chief Adviser Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam announced via Facebook yesterday that the AL would not be permitted to protest today.

In view of this, the press secretary of the Chief Adviser Shafiqul Alam gave a stern warning saying that the fascist AL, which has been in power for more than 15 years, has no chance to protest.

He said, if anyone tries to organize rallies, gatherings and processions on the orders of the genocidal and dictator Sheikh Hasina, they will be fully dealt with by law and order enforcement forces.

He said this in a post given on his verified account on Facebook yesterday. Earlier yesterday, several posts on the verified Facebook page of the AL called on everyone to gather for 'restoring democracy in Bangladesh'. Leaders and activists have been asked to gather at Noor Hossain square of zero point of the capital today. Apart from this, a picture of a poster has also been shared. It reads, "On November 10, come to zero point, 'to restore democracy in Bangladesh'." The Facebook post reads, "Come on November 10 - Nur Hossain Chatter" Zero Point, Gulistan, Dhaka.

Our protest is against taking away the rights of the people of the country, our protest is against the rise of fundamentalist forces, our protest is against the conspiracy to disrupt the lives of mass people. Join the leaders and workers of AL to protest against misrule.

Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam said in a Facebook post that AL in its current form is a fascist party. This fascist party has no chance to protest in Bangladesh. If anyone tries to hold rallies and marches on the orders of the genocidal and dictator Sheikh Hasina, the law and order forces will be fully dealt with. The interim government will not tolerate any violence or any attempt to disrupt the law and order situation in the country.

BNP Leader FL Harunur Rashid Bhuiyan said, AL is a good anti-party, but their politics are never better for the welfare of Bangladesh.

Daily Post reporter called several AL central leaders on their Whatsapp numbers they confirmed the program but refused to comment about this march
