Boat race on Sugandha River

A boat race was held on the Sugandha River in Jhalakathi on the occasion of the Great Independence and National Day. The district administration organized the traditional boat race from Gabkhan Bridge to Municipal Mini Park on Tuesday afternoon.

Seven boats participated in the competition and Shekher Hat Union Parishad became the winner. Besides, Jhalokati Sadar Upazila Parishad and Chamber of Commerce became second and third respectively.

Deputy Commissioner Farah Gul Nijhum was present as the chief guest and distributed prizes among the winners. Superintendent of Police Mohammad Afrujul Haque Tutul, Zila Parishad Chairman Advocate Khan Saifullah Panir and others were present on the occasion.
