Shakib Al Hasan, the captain of Bangladesh, will enter the ICC T20 World Cup as the all-rounder with the highest ranking after being promoted on the most recent MRF Tyres ICC Men`s T20I Player Rankings.
With two successive half-centuries in Bangladesh`s final two games, Shakib earned top honors after a strong tri-series against Pakistan and New Zealand.
Shakib`s performance allowed him to surpass Mohammad Nabi of Afghanistan and take the top spot among all-rounders before Bangladesh`s T20 World Cup campaign in Australia.
Following strong starts to their T20 World Cup tournaments, Namibian star JJ Smit (up four spots to fourth) and Zimbabwean veteran Sikandar Raza (up four spots to seventh) make eye-catching moves on the list for all-rounders. Meanwhile, the competition for the top batter ranking appears to be one to watch over the coming weeks Down Under.
