Sports and games are the part of education no doubt, not exceeding the study. To compare both the elements, education should come foremost. Because education is the basis of all qualities which helps institutionalizing a life and consequently a nation. Proverb says, "Education is the backbone of a nation". Sports makes our body fit, on the other hand education constructs and fits our mind. Education as a definition is the training of both mind and body. So there may be a question, "what is the difference between a schoolmaster and a station master"? Comes the answer, "a schoolmaster trains the mind but a station master minds the train". Importance of the same us unlimited.
We certainly are boost of our successful stage in sports and games. Cricket has become the most liking game in the world. Ours is a regarded nation in the globe undoubtedly in consideration of the cricket field which bags the reputation in the cricket field in the eyes of visitors throughout the world. A nation may be renowned in the said regard. But we must not subside our academic fitness. A man with a minimum education or even without the same may positively be a successful business man or a famous player, songstar or an artiste but education bears the total acquiences of person.
A songstar, dancer and a player is worth praising only in his or her youth but an educationist is for whole life and even after demise. Sports activities are boisterous and for young people but educational activities are possible to be performed during the total life. It is not perceived only in youth because it is by brain or merit not by physical strength. Brain work is calm and quiet but sport and games are subsequently activities of physical output. So that it can't last long. A sport programmer can easily recognized in the world as ours is now-a-day listed in the news item. Bangladesh has become successful to achieve familiarity in the cricket world; we now wait for the prompt recognition in the football sector. But alas! It is probably beyond our expectation at the present skill and performance of our stars. Woman folk, even are not killing time, rather showing fitness in the field.
Our Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina who is making history in her political life is also promoting all kinds of sports. Sometimes she is seen to kill a bit of time to watch games even on the stare of stadium. It shows her greatness of heart no doubt. She then becomes a general visitor in the gallery with others. It expresses her frankness to others to encourage the players avoiding her valuable schedule of time and sparing mental agony and anxiety.
This is the age of education, through a hard competition we should have to stand in this competitive world. Education comes after livestock. This is the era of technology and ICT. The world is now advancing to the way of development and we can't lay back. Bangladesh is also doing well in this regard under the auspices of our relevant authority which is under control of the son of our Prime Minister.
Rate of illiteracy in our country is enormously rising up at an expected speed. But it sometimes does not prove a strengthened hand. The extending quantity matters nothing. We want a qualified quantity to build up a time accord and skilled society which will turn our nation into a developed one. In this respect, our ministry of education is expected to enhance its expert hand to reach its development at the highest peak.
The ministry of education should follow the then policy prepared by the then experts. Only passing rate in the examination with no quality is nothing but a bulky bodied strength. Frequent changing schedule and policy of curriculum perhaps avoid its range. As we see, frequent change of policy and curriculum is not benevolent to both the teaching and the taught. Rather we, by all means, have to achieve goals in education sector. Our honorable Primer Minister is fervently requested to pay an ardent visit with a view to furnishing our nation with a pragmatic education policy that will make us a recognized education policy maker in the globe that will be followed by others.
Regretting that our students are beyond showing creativity in their performance though obtaining a volume of furnishing result. At present question papers bearing a vast phase requiring a smaller answer which cannot produce a skilled hand. Skilled and experienced teachers can only take up the oar of race. But where are the devoting expert teachers in this age? Ideal, honest and model teachers are rare in this arena. We can try to remember the "Khudrat -E- khuda Commission for education". General mass wish to have a curriculum like the same as their kids and future runners can have a stable teaching group to make them dedicated students for building a golden nation in the world.
In fine, it may be said, game and sports important more where education the most. It is therefore our future planners are expected to present us a curriculum in order to make a second education commission for the nation like a Khudrat -E- khuda commission for education. I can't but irritate, a few decades back it was out of imagination for a private or coaching system in our academic institutions.
