World Cup at a glance!

After 36 long years, Messi won the golden title in Argentina. Captain Lionel Messi, who played the last World Cup of his career, led Le Albiceleste to the title with a great performance throughout the tournament. 

Due to which he himself won the Golden Ball award for the best footballer of the tournament. Argentina will face France in the final of the World Cup in Qatar on Sunday (December 18) night. Despite six goals in the high-voltage match, the result came in a tiebreaker. In 120 minutes of play, both teams put three balls in each other‍‍`s net. If the final whistle blows, the match will be a tiebreaker. In the end, Messi defeated France 4-2 in the penalty shootout. This victory fulfilled Lionel Messi‍‍`s dream of winning the World Cup.

 Brazil-5 Brazil is the most successful team in the history of the World Cup so far. Earlier they played in 7 out of 21 finals. They Won 5 titles. They are the only team to have participated in all the tournaments. Selasaora got their first taste of the World Cup in Sweden in 1958. Then in 1962 the South American team won the title again. They won the World Cup for the third time in 1970. After that, they did not taste the title for 24 consecutive years, but they got that taste again in 1994 with the magic of the legendary Romario. In the 1998 World Cup, Zidane lost to France, but in 2002, Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Ronaldinho, Bebeto, Roberto Carlos, Cafu took home the World Cup for the fifth time.

 Germany-4 Germany is the team that has played in the most World Cup finals. The team has played the final 8 times so far. The Germans got their first taste of the World Cup in Switzerland in 1954. After 20 years, the German won the World Cup in 1974. In the 1990 World Cup, Germany defeated Argentina 1-0 to win the World Cup. They won their fourth World Cup title after 24 years in 2014. 

Italy-4 Italy is the most successful team in the history of the World Cup along with Brazil-Germany, having played in the World Cup finals six times and won the title 4 times. They played in two consecutive World Cup finals in 1934 and 1938 and lifted the cup at home. After that, Italy had to wait 44 years to win the third title.

 In the 1982 World Cup final, they defeated West Germany to win their third title. After another 24 years in 2006, Italy won the fourth title. 

Argentina-3 Since the beginning of the World Cup, Argentina has won three titles. In the 1978 final they beat the Netherlands 3-1 on extra time goals. Then just 8 years later in 1986 the Argentines won their second title under the leadership of Diego Maradona. In the last Qatar World Cup 2022, Argentina won the title for the third time under the leadership of Messi.

 France-2 In 1998, France won the first title in the World Cup held on their soil. Then in 2018, France beat Croatia 4-2 and took home the 2nd and last trophy of 2018. 

Uruguay-2 Uruguay got the taste of winning the title both times by stepping into the final of the World Cup twice. In the first World Cup in 1930, the host Uruguay won the trophy by defeating Argentina 4-2 in the final. In 1950, they won the Jules Rime trophy for the second time. 

Spain-1 Spain team won their only title in South Africa in 2010. In the final they defeated the Netherlands 1-0 to win the title for the first time. Finally, who will the trophy of the 22nd season of waiting go to? The World Cup will continue from November 20 to December 18. This time a total of 32 teams in 8 groups will participate in the first phase of the fight. From here, the champion and runner-up of each group will play 16 teams in the second phase.
