The country`s politics are heated ahead of next December. December is the target of BNP to hold elections under a non-partisan neutral government and bring down the current government. However, Awami League sees the party`s announcement of such a movement as an anti-government conspiracy.
The party`s top leaders claim that there is no use in scaring the A.L. on December 10. A.League is never afraid of such threats. BNP is trying to create unstable environment nationwide in the name of movement. They are daydreaming of state power through the back door.
According to sources, BNP leader Aman Ullah Aman claimed in a public meeting held at Kalshi of Pallabi on October 8 that after December 10 the country will not run on the words of Sheikh Hasina, the country will run on the words of Khaleda Zia. After his speech, Awami League and BNP are facing each other. The top leaders of the two parties are talking about this issue almost every day.
They are blaming each other. As a result, the political heat started increasing around the month of December. According to A.League sources, the top leaders of Awami League are not taking well the statement of BNP leaders about December. They think that BNP is trying to create unstable environment nationwide in the name of movement.
By avoiding the democratic path, they have started the apolitical politics of hoping for state power through the back door. In the name of movement, they are again choosing the path of fire and terror. Basically, Awami League sees BNP`s activities before the 12th National Assembly elections as part of a conspiracy to destabilize the government.
When asked, Awami League presidium member Abdur Rahman told Daily Post, "BNP`s call for the fall of the government is not one day; the dream of the leaders of the party is to seize state power by any means. But we want to say, not only in December but not in any month. If you want to go to power, you have to participate in the election and get elected. There is no other chance beyond this.
He also said, "BNP was created to conspire against the country and Awami League. BNP has no work without conspiracy. Awami League leaders and activists are always ready to face this conspiracy. In the name of movement, if any kind of chaos is attempted, there will be a sharp response. Therefore, there is no use in showing the fear of December to Awami League.|
Awami League central executive meeting will be held on October 28. Keeping ahead of the 12th National Assembly elections, this meeting is being given special importance. What should Awami League do before the election? How will the politics of the opposition camp with BNP be dealt with? What does BNP want to do on December 10? It can be discussed in detail in the meeting. A.League can give a counter program to counter the announced program of BNP. Apart from this, A.League is going to prepare to hold a large rally in Dhaka and surrounding districts. Basically, BNP and the opposition should not be able to bring the government into disrepair through the movement. A.League will be in the field with a series of programs for that.
A.League joint general secretary agriculturist A. F. M. Bahauddin Nasim told Daily Post, "There is no use trying to scare Awami League about December 10. A. League is never afraid of such threats. I didn`t get it before.`
Criticizing BNP, Nasim further said, "People of the country have seen the evil character of BNP-Jamaat in every despicable murder in Bangladesh. They are not yet extinct. They are still showing their true character in various activities. Their ideology is Pakistani ideology. They always want to kill the country`s democracy. Still they want to destroy the country by baring their poison teeth."
On Thursday, A.League General Secretary, Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said, "Where will BNP sit with 10 lakhs in December? On the streets of Dhaka? December is the month of victory, December is our month, not yours, the month of liberation war. In December, millions of people will take to the streets of Dhaka with victory flags.
He also said, Mr. Fakhrul forgot the year 2001. Now is the year 2022. How many crimes did he do in 2001 to get to power. When he came to power, did he commit looting, bloodshed, misrule, women abuse, disappearances, murders? The people of Bangladesh will not go back to that bad governance, that looting Hawa Bhaban. The people of Bangladesh will not go to that country of communal torture.
