BNP in silence mode
  • Party claims that election will not competitive
  • Persisting ‍survive with party-loyal law enforcement forces risky
  • BNP gains if boat, dummy, independent candidates join conflict
If vote not acceptable, country may be separated from world, EC said
Conflict can be big in elections. BNP knows that they not able to survive polls:  Sharmeen Murshid, CEO, Brotee

Only three days left to vote!  Twelfth parliamentary election was held on Sunday. Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) is not in any big program yet. A mass communication program is being carried out by giving leaflets to the voters not to go to the polling station. The party's high command feels that there is no competitive election in the country this time. The world not giving any legitimacy to this election. The government is under multifaceted pressure. Incidents can happen at any time. Given the polls, the ruling party can try to blame the BNP by causing destructive sabotage before the elections. That is why BNP taking utmost precautions. BNP Standing Committee members gave such a message after meeting with departmental organizational leaders.

It is being said from the grassroots that there is no polling festival at the field level. No leader of the opposition party can sleep at home. Spending the night in the forest. Thousands of activists are spending days in unsanitary conditions in prisons. There is now a lot of heat and passion among the party leaders and strategy is being given more importance in carrying out the program. A major program was decided in the first week before the vote, but it was withdrawn. The party has given a message to the organizational leaders that the grassroots leaders must be held in discipline now. No one wants the life of an activist to be attacked. Hundreds of thousands of members of law and order forces are working for the Awami League. Party leaders and workers have been appointed more in the last 15 years. Fighting them unarmed would make it difficult to survive.

Now the big challenge is to keep the voters away. And in the light of the political prescription, they consider it a big movement. BNP leaders and activists say that boat candidates, dummy candidates, and independent candidates supported by the Awami League are now in the election race. There is no festival at the polling station. People are not interested in voting. In such circumstances, their loyal allies are in doubt about victory. Many of those who stepped into the trap of Awami League and went to the polls will not be able to win.

Fractures are now brewing out of apprehension within the National Party. Several candidates withdrew from the polls.  Also, a large number of Awami League candidates are angry. Because they have to compete against the independent candidate of their party. A major conflict may erupt within the Awami League on the polling ground. Already they are involved in conflict in different parts of the country. Several people died. The country's diplomatic circles have warned their embassies with a special message. It has been indicated to the field leaders that foreigners will not validate this election in any way because there is no opposition party in the polling field, leaders are arrested and punished, and conflicts and festivals are not affected. Besides, Tarique Rahman is talking to leaders and activists at the district, metropolitan, and even police station and upazila levels. If a scenario arises that may require movement within a short time they will also do so. Then the whole country will be separated from Dhaka. If it is necessary to bring Jamaat under one banner to implement such a program, it will be done. The senior leaders of BNP say that the Western politicians are seeing this vote as a 'special election operation' of the government. What is the government doing, what is happening on the ground, thousands of opposition party leaders are in prisons in unhealthy conditions, and they are being sentenced. They mentioned the absence of at least 60 parties including the BNP in the polling field, lack of public interest in voting, and lack of festivities. Regarding the report sent by the embassies, on December 17, a private TV channel was told by Awami League presidium member and Minister of Agriculture. Abdur Razzak said in an interview that BNP leaders were offered release from prison. But they did not agree. The government had no option but to detain BNP leaders and workers to avoid instability in the country.

The whole world is now aware of these issues with the people of the country for the government. How popular is the field level of BNP, one of the political parties in Bangladesh, what is the percentage of votes? That is why confidence is working within the party now that Awami will not be able to succeed in the election. They will not step into the government's trap by burning. If necessary, they will come down to the streets with the people in the situation. BNP thinks that the Election Commission is also in doubt about this election. Truthful words are coming out of their mouths under various pressures. On December 31, at the inauguration of the training program for executive magistrates at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center in the capital, Election Commissioner M Anisur Rahman said that if the elections are not fair and acceptable, Bangladesh may be isolated from the world. Elections will not be free, fair, and acceptable.

The whole world is watching them. If they cannot make the elections fair, beautiful, and acceptable then the future of Bangladesh is uncertain. All things Bangladesh; There is a fear of stopping everything, especially financial, social, and business. This is why the BNP is on the right track: Experts who keep an eye on BNP's politics say that in 2018, the BNP announced that they would not go to the elections under the government after keeping Khaleda Zia in jail. At the end of the day, they went to the polls holding Dr. Kamal Hossain's hand as part of the two-pronged movement. 5/6 MPs were taken to Parliament! This time, the BNP has kept the announcement made five years ago - it will not go to the polls under the A-League without a caretaker government.

Many people think that BNP has stepped into Awami League's trap in the past but this time Awami League has stepped into BNP's trap. So far the party is also getting quality improvement results in the peaceful program. BNP has survived in politics with a plan. Despite the efforts of the government, the party could not find any break. They are not worried that two inactive leaders have stepped into Awami League's trap. Now no one has deviated by trusting Tariq Rahman. This is a great success for the team. When asked, BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said, that Awami League has taken away people's right to vote and freedom of speech. They want to stage yet another staged drama of disenfranchising people. But this time, you will not be able to choose fraud. People of the country have become aware.

No one will go to the polling station anymore. People are now agitating with the BNP. This government will not exist, they will fall. This government will be swept away by the people's movement. Sharmeen Murshid, chief executive officer of election observation group "Brotee" said, "The ruling party is conducting an election - how can you assume that if an instruction is given from above, the individual leaders at the field level will obey it." Those who do not expect to win are not in the field. And where money is spent, there are fights. Before and after the elections there could be major conflicts. But we don't want to present this number. My question is if how many people died, how many people were injured, and how many conflicts, I will say the election was violent. I will say that this election should not take place. Regarding BNP, he said, BNP knows very well that they cannot survive in the field. That's why they didn't come to vote. An atmosphere has been created which is one of fear and panic.
