Families want return from AYNAGHAR

- Immediate and unconditional release of missing persons should be given

- Financial compensation must be paid to each missing family

- Criminals must be brought under the law in no soon

"Bangladesh Gum Paribar (Bangladesh Disappearance Family) demanded the return of the missing persons to their families who had been forcefully disappeared during the previous Awami League (AL) government by uncovering AYNAGHOR. If not, they have warned of strict agitation. Relatives of the missing family gave this warning in a press conference at the Crime Reporters Association of Bangladesh (CRAB) auditorium yesterday afternoon.

Mohammad Bellal Hossain, Chief Coordinator of Bangladesh Gum Paribar and Chairman of Lexus Group, said in the press conference, RAB-1 disappeared me on October 10, 2016. I was tortured for one month and 10 days. The whole time I was there in AYNAGHOR, all I heard was crying. There are small houses. There was no outside sound. I was released in exchange of crores of taka with many conditions. Mohammad Bellal Hossain said in a written statement that on August 27, the Interim government formed a five-member investigation committee published in a gazette form.

In that gazette it ordered to investigate and submit an inquiry report to the ministry within 45 days. But even after 15 days we do not know where they will sit, how to start the investigation process or any roadmap. Even after contacting them several times, no response was received from them. We want to know when the investigation process will be launched. He said, "We could not find out where the AYNAGHOR were built, how many AYNAGHOR there are in Bangladesh.

If there is AYNAGHOR in Bangladesh, there is no need to have judiciary, courts and law enforcement. If these AYNAGHOR are not exposed within 48 hours, a cordon program will be given to all suspected AYNAGHOR. All the suspected AYNAGHOR will be demolished. Mohammad Bellal Hossain said that from 2010 to 2024, 70-80 percent of the disappearances, murders and kidnappings were done by RAB. People have been killed extrajudicially by staging dramas in the name of crossfire. RAB’s DG, Additional DG, Head of DB and Head of DGFI who were in charge of RAB from 2010 to 2024, I demand punishment by bringing them under the law. He said, 'Major Sajjad Ahmed used to work as a searcher of RAB.

We want justice for every source. RAB should be abolished and converted into a new force. People of Bengal don't want to see RAB. They are known in the world as a terrorist force. Old father Babul Hauldar is looking for his son and said, I used to work in a laboratory in Dhaka's Sadarghat with my son. My son Sadi Howlader had a quarrel with former shipping minister Shahjahan Khan's men. Based on that, RAB picked up my son from Pirojpur in 2013. After much searching I could not find my son. Since the fall of the government, many are coming out of AYNAGHAR. Where is my son? Who will find my son? Another bereaved Sharmin Akhter Chandni said, on December 21, 2014, my brother was taken away from Rajshahi by members of RAB-5.

Later, we went to the police station and did not get any remedy. Chandni raised some demands to the interim government. They are: immediate and unconditional release of missing persons from torture cells; Missing persons should be accompanied by family members to visit all cells; The families of those who have been murdered should be given certificates as evidence; Financial compensation must be paid to each missing family; Independent Bangladesh cannot have any kind of AYNAGHAR and those involved in disappearances and murders must be brought under the law.
