Myanmar is in crisis because of domestic clashes as four militant groups started a war against the government for freedom. A minimum of one group is directly connected with the Rohingya camp in Bangladesh.
Not only their domestic crisis, but Rohingya are also involved in many illegal trades like yaba smuggling, keeping firm arms, and human trafficking. As the National election of Bangladesh is knocking on the door, experts say now keep one eye on the militants by the law enforcement group.
A clash occurred between two groups, the Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA) and the Rohingya Solidarity Organization (RSO) at the Ukhiyar camp in Cox's Bazar. Four people were killed in separate places. The incident took place in Rohingya camps 17 and 15 last Tuesday night.
The deceased is Abul Kasem (35), son of Abul Bashar, a resident of H/77 Block of camp number 17. He is believed to be an ARSA member. Also, Mohammad Zobair (16) son of Mohammad Ali and Zainal Uddin (27) son of Kamal Uddin, residents of the G/3 Block area of Camp No. 15. The law and order forces believe that they are two RSO members.
It is reported that 10/12 ARSA members gathered and fired two rounds at the head of Abul Kasem in the C/77 Block area of Camp No. 17 of the Rohingya camp in Ukhiya last Tuesday night. Kasem was shot and killed on the spot. After this incident, ARSA members fired 12-13 rounds at the RSO members in the G/3 Block area of Camp No. 15. RSO members Jobair and Zainal were killed.
Shamim Hossain, OC of Ukhia police station, said that three people were killed in the firing of ARSA and RSO terrorists in Camp 15 and Camp 17 areas. At present the situation in the camp area is normal. Additional police have been deployed. The bodies have been sent to Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Earlier on Tuesday afternoon, a youth named Imam Hussain (30) was shot dead by F/16 of Rohingya Camp No. 4, Kutupalong, Ukhia. With this, four people were killed in the camp in 24 hours.
According to sources, among the 56 Rohingyas killed in the last 8 months, there are 17 Rohingya Majhi (leaders), 21 ARSA members, 3 RSO members, and 1 volunteer. Others killed were ordinary Rohingya.
Additional DIG Amir Zafar, the commander of 8 Amord Police Battalion (APBN), who is in charge of the security of the camp, said that these killings are taking place due to conflicts among themselves. But our vigilance has been increased. Common Rohingyas have been safe. Those who are causing these incidents are being identified.
