Noakhali Additional Superintendent of Police (Begumganj Circle) office and upazila land office were arson and vandalized. However, no casualties were reported in these incidents. These incidents of arson and vandalism took place on Sunday at separate times in the afternoon and evening.
Noakhali Additional Superintendent of Police (Begumganj Circle) Md Nazmul Hasan Rajib and Begumganj Upazila Commissioner (Land) Syed Murad Islam confirmed the matter.
According to some eyewitnesses, a group of anti-discrimination student movement supporters suddenly attacked the Begumganj Upazila (land) office and vandalized it around 5 pm on Sunday. Later they set fire there and looted the laptops and desktops in the office. Later in the evening, another group of anti-discrimination student movement supporters attacked the office of Additional Superintendent of Police (Begumganj Circle) in Noakhali. Then they vandalized and set fire to it. On receiving the information, the law enforcement officials went to the spot. Before this, the agitators moved away.
Begumganj Upazila Commissioner (Land) Syed Murad Islam said, I heard that laptops and desktops were taken away by setting fire to the office. The fire was later extinguished.
Noakhali Additional Superintendent of Police (Begumganj Circle) Md Nazmul Hasan Rajib confirmed the truth of arson and said that they attacked the police station three times since morning. Later they went to the circle office and set fire to the papers.
